so inspired

Here is a bit of happiness for you fellow scrapbookers out there. I am so happy to be going over to my friend rose's to scrapbook this weekend. Any crafter out there will understand that sometimes you don't feel very inspired, or you get into a rut. And then you see something that inspires you to craft away! Last weekend I started sewing an Amy Butler skirt, and I can't wait to get my sewing machine back from the repair shop to finish this up. I promise I will post a picture of it when I am done. Starting this project got me completely in the mood to start my Christmas projects. This year some girlfriends and I are exchanging homemade gifts. I hope they love my creations. They better, this may be the only year I sew (just kidding).
Anyways back to the scrapbooking items that have inspired me.
1. making memories note(worthy)line
2. Junkitz school days line
3. basic grey mellow chipboard shapes-super cute boy and girl

I can't wait to use these items, maybe I will share with you all when I am done.

life trifecta

Mark and I were able to sit down tonite to watch some of our DVR recordings (cable version of Tivo). First off, the season premier of 30 Rock was great. What is up with NBC's website? I wish you could post clips from there like you can from Youtube. If you don't watch 30 Rock, you should. It is crazy funny, and I love this clip. Kenneth doing his Seinfeld theme song impression is the best!
Next we watched 3, yes you read that right, all 3 episodes of the new show Life. It goes without saying that because I love this show, it probably won't be on for as long as we would like. You know like Veronica Mars, Arrested Development, Felicity.....need I say more?
Ok, so back to this show. It is great. You can watch full episodes on the NBC site. I don't think you will want to miss this one.
What are your new favorites this season? Or old episodes for that matter?

me likes to share

I want to share this blog with you. You don't have to love vintage things to appreciate some of the hilarious vintage finds this person comes across. Scroll down to the flash cards and have a good laugh.

Albertson's controls the world

Last Saturday we took my good friend Rose out for her birthday.
We had the funniest cab driver on the way to Ballard. Turns out, like most people I am friends with, that he used to work for Albertson's ( I can't really explain why most of my friends have worked for Albertson's, this is not a requirement to be friends with me). So this guy was crazy! He kept getting phone calls from people named Chachi (as in "Joni loves Chachi") and Hogan (Hulk Hogan, Hogan's heroes). I swear I would have died laughing if Cheech called him! Although by the looks of him, he could have been straight off the set of a Cheech and Chong movie!
Anyways we went to this great place in Ballard called the Matador .
I had the best Steak Fajitas. The steak was as soft as butter. I highly suggest eating there if you get a chance. And have a lemon drop while you are at it, cause it was pretty tasty too.

30 lashes

Ok, I know I have been a bad blogger. It has been one of those moments in life, where you feel almost as if you are spinning out of control. In life, I have been organized challenged, but have been working my you-know-what off to change that! Yesterday I broke down and purchased a planner, it is oh so cute, and I plan to use it until it falls apart! Anyone who knows me, will find it odd that I am using a planner, but here's to teaching an old dog new tricks huh?
Now I can keep track of all the many things that have been happening in our lives.

Update on us:
The girls are doing well in school. Molly's teacher asked me to help out a little bit more in the classroom, so of course I said yes. On Halloween we will be decorating cookies, and along with that the kids will be "purchasing" the items they need for their cookies with play money. This will be fun, and a challenge to the students to identify coins and count out their value.

Hayley is reading a ton again. She sort of fell out of that in the summer, but her teacher says she is reading a lot in class. And that Smartboard that they have? It is really cool. I got to observe the kids working on a number chart the other day, and at curriculum night Hayley's teacher went over some of the different things it can do. Totally cool for third graders. I noticed that not one kid was apprehensive about getting up in front of the class to use it. Remember the days when we dreaded "public speaking" or anything else that would put us on the spot?

Called grandma today. I can't even hardly talk about how angry I am at Grandpa's previous doctor (the last time he went through radiation for his cancer), who basically left my grandparents in the dark and DID NOT DO HIS JOB. Grandpa will be back to the doctor at the end of the month, his P.S.A. level is higher than originally thought and they will be doing a bone scan to see if the cancer has spread anymore. Grandma sounds stressed, but is really happy with the new doctor. At least he is taking the time to treat my grandpa like a real person with real medical history! We are over there this weekend to spend some time with them again.

Along with the million other things I have taken on (school projects, scrapbooking, starting an etsy shop, etc.) I am back with this great company . I hope you can take the time to check it out! Very cool stuff, and very much a family oriented company.

Give a shout out to my b.f.f. rose over here tommorow (the 10th) is her birthday.

Fall fun

Everyone is posting about fall. I love fall. Last weekend, driving over Steven's Pass, the girls and I were loving all of the reds and oranges in the mountains! It will be fun to see how many more leaves have changed color when we head over next weekend.
I am super excited to go to the pumpkin patch. We go to this lovely place every year called Craven farms. If you want more info go here .

We take the kids there to have their picture taken under the flood signs (the marker for the really BIG floods around here) so we can see how much they have grown each year. It is one of many family traditions we have for fall.

alive and kicking

We are still alive here, I just can't spend a lot of time on the old blog lately. Took the girls to visit my grandparents over the weekend, grandpa's cancer is back. Will be heading back over to their house soon, and tons of other stuff going on around here.
I promise I will blog for real after this weekend.
Oh by the way...did I brag it up about seeing Def Leppard, Foreigner and Styx in concert last week? Well technically we missed Styx due to standing in the slowest mixed drink line in the history of time. And they did not even sing "Mr. Roboto" so I am ok with not seeing them.
Def Leppard was rockingly awesome.
