It's finally Friday!

It is Memorial Day weekend already. The kids have no school Monday, which they are actually bummed about. They will learn as they get older and understand the social value of an extra vacation day from school!
We have big plans this weekend. Another Pirate Party! Should be fun! Over to Theresa and Alan's for dinner and a movie and then we are off to the Puget Park drive in theater to watch the third installment of Johnny Depp with massive eyeliner (otherwise known as Pirates of the Carribbean 3). Then back to Theresa and Alan's to whoop it up. Rosie, don't forget your spy cam! Old Ghetto phone # 2. And no Debbie Downer. This is not the anti-Thanksgiving.
Molly is going for her first sleepover at a friends from school. She is super excited. Hayley is having a friend over next weekend, so she has a chance to go stay with Grandma and Great Grandma this Saturday night. She will be in her prime hanging with the Grandma's.
Last night was Portfolio night for 1st and 2nd grade. Hayley and her class sang and then we got to go to the classroom to see work they have done throughout the year. I had so much fun volunteering the other day and already had a sneak peek at what some of the other kids had worked on, but the improvement in Hayley is so great! We are super proud parents.
I have also bit off a couple of big projects at the Elementary school, but I think it is really going to be fun! I am going to take charge of the Box tops for Education for the next year and see if I can't help breathe some new life into it...and raise some money for the school too.
My other big project is taking over the yearbook, along with another Kindergarten Mom. I think between the two of us we can make an awesome yearbook for the kids...we are both huge scrapbookers! I am excited for next year. I have never in my life met so many fun and friendly parents than at this school.
Camping season is upon us too! Our Birch Bay waterslide/camping trip is booked and our group is going to have a blast. This year we are actually staying at the Birch Bay State Park instead of the place we stayed last year. Plus we have added two more victims to our campout. Oh, did that slip out? I mean friends! Good luck with this group Stephanie and Becky.

Mark and I can't wait for the waterslides. We never miss a year. You can look them up online at www.birchbaywaterslides.net

Have a great Memorial Day weekend, Mark and I hope you have lots of fun. Or else you'll walk the plank!

Icey-if you read this wish you were here to party Pirate style while your other half is gone to Europe.

Words of Wisdom from a 6 year old

Today Molly brought me a card from the other child I was in charge of on the field trip. Marco is his name and he made me the cutest thank you card with fish and starfish and seaweed drawn on the front. Marco struggles a little with his writing skills so when I opened up the card it was a little hard to read. Molly told me what it said and then in her little smarty voice she said "Mom everyone tries their best!" It was so stinkin' cute and I had to smile.

It's official!

Hey everyone, I'm back! We are finally moved and most everything is put away. Most importantly my scrapbook room is taking shape. I am anxious to print pictures from Molly's 6th birthday and Poker night @ Theresa and Alan's. We had so much fun...Mark wasn't worth a darn the next day. T-can't wait for the next pirate party. Looks like Mark and I will have to purchase better costumes this time.
Spent some time watching dancing with the stars tonite. This is the first time ever that I have voted for dancers on that show...but it must be done. I would love to see Joey and Kym win this year. Although Apolo and Julianne would be ok too.

As I am getting more organized I will be blogging more again.

By the way Molly has a piece of artwork to be featured in the Edmonds art Festival. More details on that later. We are proud parents!!!! Way to go Molly.

Aren't our girls getting so big? I absolutely love these latest pictures of them. Molly will be turning 6 already at the end of April. And Hayley will be 8 in July. Today she surprised me with some new knowledge about what makes something symmetrical and what congruent means. What a smarty pants she is!!! And last week Molly informed us that she wants to read chapter books (it is rare that a Kindergarten student will be able to and then actually comprehend what they are reading). She chose one of Hayley's "The Littles" chapter books, read it and told me what happened in the story. SHOCKING is all I can say.
Ok, well enough bragging about my children for the evening.
