Holding my breath

My blog buddy over at Big Red Robot posted this link to what should be another great Owen Wilson, Jason Schwartzman flick. Check it out.

Chappelle's Show - Prince vs Charlie Murphy

Earmuffs if your kids are around. This is funny though. Almost as good as the Rick James skit.

I had to blink twice

Sitting in the recliner with the sun streaming through our sliding glass door, I could not quite see the whole t.v. screen. So when I saw a small advertisement down in the corner of the screen for this I really had to do a double take. It is A & E's new series starring our old favorites Corey Haim and Corey Feldman. They have been brought back from the dead! Although this could very well be the stupidest show to hit television since oh let's say LAST WEEK, I will more than likely be glued to it, to watch these guys. My favorite Cory F. movie was Stand By Me, and my favorite Corey H. movie was License to Drive. What was yours?

80's a plenty

Theresa, Mom and I hit the thrift stores yesterday in Seattle. We found some cool 80's clothes and I can't wait for next weekend to "party on Wayne" at my rewind party. I am sure I will have some great pictures to post. Mark is dressing up like Don Johnson and I am going a little "Punky Brewster" with a grown-up flair. Thanks to Becky who still owns a crimper.
Hmmm....should I wear lavendar eye shadow or blue?

The Cosby Show - Hilarious Scene

I can say that this show was one of my favorites growing up, and I still love it. There is something about Bill Cosby's facial expressions that are so funny. This scene/episode ranks up there in my top 10 Cosby show moments.

Happy Gilmore Fights Bob Barker

with the news of Drew Carrey replacing Bob Barker I thought it somewhat appropriate to post this video. It is one of our all time favorite flicks.

Devil Cat

aren't you glad this is not your pet?

rain drops keep falling on my head

We went camping last weekend. It rained. It rained some more. It teased us with some warm weather. And then it RAINED. But we still had so much fun. Birch bay State Park was fun, despite the condescending Park Ranger that had to come and tell us how noisy we were being (she talked to us like we were little kids). We had a ton of good food-thanks everyone, we saw a cool birds of prey show, we went to the beach, we roasted smores, and we had a ton of fun playing cards.

Plus we opted to go to the go-cart track for Ethan's birthday since the weather was too cold for the waterslides. The kids had so much fun (and so did the boys-Mark, mini-me, and Bizarro).

Next up for camping-Labor Day weekend. Keep your fingers crossed for nicer weather.

Here are just a few pictures. Thanks to our neighbor for taking our group picture. Mark had to teach them how to start a fire. If you can imagine, they were trying to keep dry with an umbrella. Not really something I have ever seen on a camping trip.

They say it's your birthday

Today I am turning 32!!!!
But on August 4th, I am rewinding back to 30 with my awesome friends.
Thanks guys for planning an 80's party. I can't wait to see what you all are going to wear.

maybe my kids are on to something

So for years my kids have been using this "made up" word...GINORMOUS. Your kids may say it too...it is from the Madeline movie. Hayley and Molly have never used the word giant or enormous, just ginormous. Mark and I have always thought it was cute that they said it, and now today Mark informed me that he read this article and it had some great news!
Websters Dictionary is putting in the word ginormous (as well as other new words). Isn't that funny? I think I may have to scrapbook this so my kids know they were ahead of the game!

it's a Kerley 4th

The Kerley's had a huge party for the 4th of July and despite the fact that Anna got burned and had a trip to the emergency room, the dogs went CRAZY over the fireworks, and Molly getting a massive headache, we had a ton of fun! Here are a few pictures from our evening.

Arrested Development Tribute: Season 1

Mark and I think this show is hilarious! What a shame that it was canceled.

losing myself on youtube.com

I want to apologize for the plethora of youtube posts, but hey...there is just so much good stuff on there, I can't resist.

American Beauty - Dinner Scene

This may truely be one of my all time favorite movie scenes...EVER!
I love, love, love Kevin Spacey.

Wedding Thriller Dance

My Vegas buddies, shall we do this on the strip after Dannie and Rob renew their vows?
Seriously this is some good stuff, my cousins and I rented Thriller on VHS and watched it over and over when it first came out. GOOD TIMES!!!

The Real Harry Potter Fans-this one's for you Rose!

Since the BIBLE? I think that may be a stretch.
These guys need to get out a little more.

Speed Stacking - Nearly World Record

Some people have too much time on their hands. And what I really mean by that is, people other than those of us who blog, or read blogs! You will especially enjoy the slow motion action at the end.

Little Miss Sunshine -

This movie was one of our favorites! We thought it was funny, and even though this scene is a little disturbing (think-if it was your own child), we will totally enjoy watching the movie at the outdoor cinema in Seattle this summer. Steve Carell rules, as does Toni Collette! And don't forget Greg Kinnear. He is a great actor too!
"She's kickin ass, that's what she's doin."
And with that, my blog has gone to a PG-13 rating. Take that rating system!

Someone to put a smile on your face

Have you met my new favorite actress Toni Collette? Technically she is not new, I have just discovered that she is a really great actress! You may know her as the mom in that movie where the little boy can see dead people. That's right, you know the one! You can check out other interesting facts about T.C. here or you can go here to see what other movies she has acted in. Even this really predictable movie I am watching right now on H.B.O. (In her shoes) is better because of her part! Happy movie watching.

the sound of summer

My niece Kiersten has already been here and gone back to Minnesota. It seems like her time out here gets shorter and shorter, but that is what happens when those girls become teenagers! Remember when you were a kid and every time you saw someone you had not seen in awhile (parents friends, relatives...you know the likes) they would comment on how big you had become, or how much you had changed since they saw you last? Well this is true with my niece. She TOWERS over me now and she is not even half my age yet!!! Where the heck has all the time gone?

So my brother had us all over for a bbq. The girls did some swimming, the dogs did some swimming-yuck, we ate salmon that my brother caught, and just generally soaked up some sun! My nephew, Harley is starting to talk a lot and he is so funny! Everything is "RIGHT NOW!" Hmmm...I really think I don't miss that at all with the girls.

And what the heck is with my brothers dog, Teddy, trying to get it on with the other male dog that was there. It became the family joke after awhile and I swore I would blog about it, so here it is folks!

big city folk

Yesterday we had a family date night since Mark worked early in the day! We invited Dannie, Rob, Devin and Ryan to go to the outdoor cinema with us to watch The Neverending Story. We had so much fun. Fremont is a part of Seattle which has a lot of funky shops, home of a great restaraunt called the El Camino, and the Burke-Gilman trail runs through this part of Seattle. Hayley, Molly and I had never seen this movie, plus I can't remember the last time I was at an outdoor movie (or drive-in theater) so this was a real treat for us. Mark and I took the girls to a little burger joint called Bob's Red Mill Burgers up on Phinney Ridge (thanks Theresa for the suggestion!). The burgers were great and if you walk next door to Starbucks you have a great view of Greenlake. Then we were off to the movies. We have not seen Ryan in ages, she has gotten so big and she was so good-she fell asleep shortly after the movie started. It is fun to spend time with family, and we love the Nemes family! Can't wait to do it again. I am posting a picture of Devin, who does not seem to have a shy bone in his body, getting up to participate in the paper airplane throwing contest. He beat all of the adults...hmmm maybe a future in aeronautics? We'll see. A master paper folder he is! He won a free ticket to the Seattle Childrens Theatre to see The Neverending Story, so I am going to take him and the girls to see the play.

All in all we had fun, the weather was perfect, the peanut butter and chocolate shake was good, the movie and crowd were entertaining, blah, blah, blah! If you have the opportunity in your hometown, you should google and see if you have an outdoor cinema too. It is the perfect summer activity.

Happy 4th of July

I can't believe that tommorow is the 4th of July already! This year is really flying by...I know a corny thing to say, but TRUE. We are off to some friends tommorow who live just off of Martha Lake. There should be a spectacular fireworks display at the lake, and lots of good eats!
Over the years we have had a few different things we have done on the fourth like camping, going to Erin and Alan's, but some of the funniest memories are those spent with my Dad and his never-ending supply of fireworks he keeps in the garage. He loves going up to "Boom City" in Marysville, Washington to try and haggle the best deal on fireworks. He even took Hayley and Molly up there this year, and Hayley came home telling me all about which booths were the best deals!
What are some of your favorite 4th traditions?
