I am really missing the Bellagio fountains tonite! The fountains and this song go hand in hand in my eyes! Doesn't Andrea Bocelli have the most amazing voice? This is typically not my style of music, but I love, love, love this song!

these are a few of my favorite things...
Yay, fall is here. I know this because my local grocery store started selling pumpkin pie flavored coffee creamer. Also, Trader Joe's (another fav.) just started selling pumpkin butter. I love fall, even with it's rain! I also love all things pumpkin flavored.
Today was also good because I hit our local thrift store to start the search for costumes for the kids. I like to do it early, before every costume is extinct , thus draining my wallet because I have to buy something at a regular costume store. Luckily, we found a cool witch "dress" for Hayley, and the start of Molly's Fairy costume. I also found mine, which is a Mary Katherine Gallagher outfit (Saturday Night Live for those not familiar) and I am very thrilled. I am thinking of asking my dear hubby if he wants to dress up like our favorite motivational speaker, Matt Foley (a.k.a. Chris Farley). Wouldn't it be fun to do a party where everyone dresses up like Saturday Night live characters?
The other treasure I found today? 2 pairs of "7" jeans, at a very cool price- $5.50 each. This was a steal! I would love to buy them at Nordstrom, but will not pay $129 + for jeans!
This weekend I have been inspired to scrapbook a lot more. I think this is true for fall, because now that the kids are back to school and we have survived the first two weeks, things are starting to calm down. I love the new love, elsie jack and abby line.
So those are a few of my favorite things right now! Glad I could share them.

non believers
Today was supposed to be my Vegas post, but I wanted to share something with everyone.
How many of us are more than frustrated with customer service, or shall I say the COMPLETE LACK OF IT? Last week I had an appointment scheduled at my favorite salon, Ulta, and when I got there I found out it had been canceled. The manager in fact said he could not find that my appointment had ever been scheduled, luckily for me I had my appointment card. I was to say the least a little upset because my vacation was starting in two days after my appointment! They could not fit me in before the Vegas trip so I ended up going somewhere else. I was swearing that I was done with Ulta. I can't stand when this type of thing happens and they barely can squeak out an apology, or say they will take care of it and they don't.
Well today, I got a call from Ulta, and they were absolutely awesome about the whole thing.
They apologized 3 times, and said they wanted to offer me some, yes SOME (as in more than one) services for free. So for everyone who thinks customer service is completely in the toilet, there is proof otherwise.

ten years and growing
Last thursday was our 10th wedding anniversary, Mark was so sneaky he took me to dinner at Anthony's in Edmonds and even bought me roses. He is the BEST.
Friday morning we were off to sunny Las Vegas, I am still too tired to blog about it, so some good pictures and the rundown will be up here tommorow.
I will leave you with one funny picture though.
I it is hard to see the total on the bill, but I want to share that it was $892.42. Worth every penny
(we ate at Bobby Flay's Mesa Grill ) the meal was outstanding! And not to mention the best lemon drop I have had so far.

School house rocks
Today was the first day of school! The girls were anxious, and wanted me to walk them to their classrooms. Molly is in a first/second grade split class, so it will challenge her a lot this year. Just what she needs! Only one friend from kindergarten is with her, but we told her it was a chance to make new friends. We think it will be good for her.
Hayley got a super popular teacher, and I think she is really going to have a lot of fun this year. Plus her class is the test class for some new fangled invention called the Smartboard. I will be able to tell you a little more about it after "open house".

new look
Imagine my suprise when Molly said last night that she wanted to cut her hair. She has been saying for months that she wants to grow it down to her knees, but I think she finally figured out that her super thick hair is too hard to brush. She looks so adorable with short hair. After her salon visit we went to the mall and she picked out a new headband for her and a new one for big sis at the everything girly store.

Eddie Murphy - James Brown's Celebrity Hot Tub Party
I love this, watched this when I was too young to be watching this show, but I still thought it was the best!
