The things we've been up to

Wow, it has been awhile since I blogged! There has been a lot going on. Let me share...

1. Girls got new haircuts! Super cute, very stylish and short which I love because they don't look like they have a birds nest in their hair!

2. Molly had a field trip to "dig fossils". There is a dinosaur place in the Everett mall. They had fun, and she found a sharks tooth (not real of course).

3. Kevin and Teri flew in from Fairbanks for Keith's wedding. We visited with them for a bit and then Saturday was the big day for Keith and Carla. We went to dinner afterwards and then headed north to the Tulalip Casino. We spent a fair amount of time in the bar listening to Hit Explosion who are always the best. People watching there is also one of the funnest things to do. The crazies always come out at night! And it seems to be people of all ages. Rosarita met up with us, and later her "sistah".

4. I drove Keith and Carla to the airport on Sunday for their honeymoon trip to Las Vegas. Sunday night it began to snow and school was cancelled Monday. We stayed home, Mark took the kids out to play, and I got a ton of stuff done around here.

5. Hayley learned to use her Knifty Knitter finally and she made the cutest hat. Now it's Molly's turn.

I will leave you with some pictures to enjoy from this last week/weekend. Enjoy!
P.S. I left my purse at Bubba's on Friday night and my brother decided to get our camera out to take goofy pictures. He doesn't look so hot in girls sunglasses!

Company party

Today we went to the annual bowling party put on by Mark's work. They rent the whole bowling alley, give small gifts to the kids, provide food and it is really a great perk of working for the railroad. Our friends, the Kemps and Rosarita were able to come with their children. Here are a few pictures. So many employers don't do events like this one does. And there are several fun things throughout the year. One of our favorite things is that all of the events are family oriented.
Special note: In every picture we took of Erin throwing the bowling ball she has the "rockstar" sign going on with her left hand. We did not realize that until we got home and uploaded the photos. We love you rocking the bowling alley Erin!

Rock and Roll ain't noise pollution

Anyone who knows me , knows I like all types of music. When I am working I am listening to my IPOD, when I am cleaning...music, and most of all when I am scrapbooking or being crafty I am listening to music. Sometimes it is hard to find new and exciting stuff...especially if you want to listen to something that is not played over and over again on the radio. That is why I am excited to share this cool site with you. Check it out, I think you will be pleasantly surprised! Yay new music to my ears.

peek into my week

As a rule I generally don't like all of this reality t.v. that is on every stinkin chanel these days. I do like the competition shows like the biggest loser and dancing with the stars . So how happy am I that Bruno and Carrie Ann from Dancing with the Stars (judges) have their own show that started tonite. It is a little American Idol crossed with Dancing with the Stars and I love it. And how much do I love that Harry Connick jr. is doing commercials and one is on right now? I love that guy. Ok, got sidetracked there for a minute-sorry! Anyways I really like the new show.

Tonite for dinner I made our family favorite, low-carb pizza. I won't post a recipe here, because you can do many variations on it, but if someone wants to know my recipe give me a comment, and I will email you privately. Basically it does not have a dough crust and you can put any topping on that you like. We usually do bacon, but you could do veggies, or other meat(s). Everyone at our house loves it and that is saying a lot because we have two very picky eaters here!

Scrapbooking is coming right along. Here is a peek at a layout I did tonite which took me less than 20 minutes...that includes narrowing down the pictures. I am all about the basic page these days. I am looking forward to everyone coming over here on Friday. I feel like a lot is going to be accomplished, and it is the best to hang out together. The girls won special awards at school, and will be at the sock hop/pizza party celebration for all students who get the award. I know they will be having a great time with their friends!

Today I started a new book called songs of the humpback whale. So far so good. It is by my favorite author Jodi Picoult.

Happy Monday everyone.

Old school bowling

Mark and I love to go bowling. Most of our friends love to bowl. That is why I am so sad to find out that the Ballard Sunset Bowl is closing in April to make way for a new apartment community. This place sells beer in bowling pin shaped bottles, roasted cashews...cheap, and much more. It is been around for years, and is one of the few bowling alleys left in Seattle. It will be a must do outing for "our gang" before it closes in April. On another, much happier bowling note, we went to a birthday outing today for a friends daughters 5th birthday party. The kids had a blast! Mark broke a chunk of the wall when he dropped a bowling ball, which was pretty funny. It was a great way to spend the day before the kids head back to school on Monday. Technically that would be today, now that I am blogging at all hours of the nite. I am up late because I got caught up in pulling out pictures that I want to scrapbook this friday when my girlfriends come over to scrapbook and burn CD's. They really just love me for my music collection ha ha.
P.S. Go Seahawks!
P.P.S. If you play Cranium Hoopla, make sure to read the directions so you don't have to break your arm patting yourself on the back at how quickly you have mastered the game.
