these are a few of my favorite things...

Yay, fall is here. I know this because my local grocery store started selling pumpkin pie flavored coffee creamer. Also, Trader Joe's (another fav.) just started selling pumpkin butter. I love fall, even with it's rain! I also love all things pumpkin flavored.

Today was also good because I hit our local thrift store to start the search for costumes for the kids. I like to do it early, before every costume is extinct , thus draining my wallet because I have to buy something at a regular costume store. Luckily, we found a cool witch "dress" for Hayley, and the start of Molly's Fairy costume. I also found mine, which is a Mary Katherine Gallagher outfit (Saturday Night Live for those not familiar) and I am very thrilled. I am thinking of asking my dear hubby if he wants to dress up like our favorite motivational speaker, Matt Foley (a.k.a. Chris Farley). Wouldn't it be fun to do a party where everyone dresses up like Saturday Night live characters?

The other treasure I found today? 2 pairs of "7" jeans, at a very cool price- $5.50 each. This was a steal! I would love to buy them at Nordstrom, but will not pay $129 + for jeans!

This weekend I have been inspired to scrapbook a lot more. I think this is true for fall, because now that the kids are back to school and we have survived the first two weeks, things are starting to calm down. I love the new love, elsie jack and abby line.

So those are a few of my favorite things right now! Glad I could share them.

new look

Imagine my suprise when Molly said last night that she wanted to cut her hair. She has been saying for months that she wants to grow it down to her knees, but I think she finally figured out that her super thick hair is too hard to brush. She looks so adorable with short hair. After her salon visit we went to the mall and she picked out a new headband for her and a new one for big sis at the everything girly store.

Little things to enjoy

This has been a long, strange week and I think we all could use some cheer. Here are a few of my latest loves:
1. Some super cool stuff here by that woman we all love to hate! I especially love the number stamps, glitter, and the albums. Reasonably priced for all you scrapbookers.

2. Blake, Blake, Blake...and Simon said that Seattle sucked for Idol contestants. Who's laughing now baby! Way to go Bothell boy.

3. Low tide at the Edmonds beach. Weds. was Molly's field trip to the beach, we saw a ton of Starfish and Sea Anemones. It was cold and wet, but the kids had a great time.

4. Old episodes of Arrested Development. We only own season 1, but I would love to have the other seasons. This is the strangest, funniest show.

5. My friend Rose whom you can visit at www.ribbonsandbuttons.blogspot.com. She has searched out some of the best SNL skits.

6. Friendly neighbors-we have some of the nicest neighbors...even the one's with that nasty smoking habit. I am willing to overlook it, if they continue to be friendly ha ha.

7. The perfect lemon drop made with Meyers lemon mix from www.williams-sonoma.com.
This is the best place on earth...my next purchase will be the cupcake pan that makes your cupcakes look like ice cream cones. That will be a little ways off...but it is one of my favorite things they sell. Makes me feel fancy in the kitchen!

8. Last, and certainly not least, a husband who totally shares my sense of humor. Mark and I have totally been on the same page lately as far as things that make us laugh. Dorky cliche, but laughter is the best medicine.
