television, movies, oh my!

Tommorow (technically today I guess) the girls and I are going with two other families from school to see Horton Hears a Who . We are all pretty excited to see this movie, especially because we don't go to the theater that often. We love Dr. Seuss, and I am so excited to see how they bring the book to life.
I am up this late because I just watched the last Celebrity Rehab and then the reunion show. I was actually surprised at how many have stayed sober. It feels a little like you are cheering on a cousin or something when you watch it. I love Dr. Drew Pinsky! Mark says he is still on Loveline which is on a local radio station here in the Seattle area (107.7 the end).
Another show I want to call attention to is one that I think my friend Rosarita would be awesome at. I really want her to be on this show because I think she would kick butt! The show is called Don't Forget the Lyrics . Mark and I were sitting down to watch The Simpson's Movie (yes, we are months behind) and that show happened to be on. We watched it for a few minutes. It is kind of fun, if you don't have more pressing television to watch. But we do know that Rose would be great at it! By the way, we thought the Simpson's Movie was pretty funny. Not a bad deal for $10 at Target.

Slap Bet

Does anyone watch How I met your Mother ?
I was reading Barney's Blog (which you can locate at the above link) and saw this:
Monday, November 19, 8pm et/pt
Slapsgiving
As Lily and Marshall host their first Thanksgiving as a married couple, Barney is tortured by the tick-tock of the slap bet countdown clock and the uncertainty of the exact moment the slap is going to be delivered. TV14-DL

Yes, dear readers, you read it right...the slap bet countdown continues.
I love this show!

life trifecta

Mark and I were able to sit down tonite to watch some of our DVR recordings (cable version of Tivo). First off, the season premier of 30 Rock was great. What is up with NBC's website? I wish you could post clips from there like you can from Youtube. If you don't watch 30 Rock, you should. It is crazy funny, and I love this clip. Kenneth doing his Seinfeld theme song impression is the best!
Next we watched 3, yes you read that right, all 3 episodes of the new show Life. It goes without saying that because I love this show, it probably won't be on for as long as we would like. You know like Veronica Mars, Arrested Development, Felicity.....need I say more?
Ok, so back to this show. It is great. You can watch full episodes on the NBC site. I don't think you will want to miss this one.
What are your new favorites this season? Or old episodes for that matter?

The Teutuls will always have a place in our hearts!

After a busy weekend of sleepovers at our place, I needed a few minutes to sit and be a couch potato. Sunday afternoons are not plentiful for good t.v. watching so I put on the Discovery Channel, which I always forget about! It holds one of our all time favorite shows, American Chopper . Let me be honest, I am not a "biker" per say, or even a fan of watching shows where things are built. But there are a few things about this show that keep me captivated. Is it Paul Sr. and Paulie always battling about keeping the shop clean ( or whatever quarrel comes up for the day)? Is it the fact that the more unorganized they seem, the more beautiful, amazing bike they put together? It may just be that it is a family working together, and I feel that connection despite the fact that our business and the American Chopper business are completely different from each other. Who knows really, I just know I love watching them...my dear hubby even has the American Chopper Full Throttle game for his xbox . Yes we have just admitted that we may be a little "you might be a redneck if..." . Have you ever seen the bike they made for the Prisoners of War or the bike designed for the New York Fire Department? It is a toss up which one is our favorite, but you really must take a look at the airbrush paint job done on the P.O.W. bike, as well as all of the detail put into each bike. The Teutuls come up with some amazing ideas for the custom Choppers.
Plus, they do a lot for charity, which you can also check out on the website.
Ok, so my love affair with the Teutuls has not ended yet!

I hear Vegas calling!

Our friend Kellie is back from France...yay! Can't wait to hear all about it and see pictures and all that jazz. I may even have to book a spa day with her at Nordies downtown Seattle.
So all of us are gearing up for the big Vegas trip, it is hard to believe that the time has actually gone by as fast as it has. September will be here before we know it. Vegas won't know what hit it, after all of us girls (plus a couple of extremely brave men) arrive! Kellie is doing some leg work on the tickets and hotel arrangements for us. Will it be upper-class Bellagio style? Or the high quality of the lowest quality hotels- The Golden Nugget? (is that place still around?) . Wherever we rest our heads it is going to be the trip of a lifetime...until the next one. Chicago anyone? OH and by the way, Mark and will not be renewing our vows Elvis style this time...way too expensive! That will have to be a 15 year anniversary treat :)
Off to watch Will and Grace on Lifetime t.v. for women .

It's official!

Hey everyone, I'm back! We are finally moved and most everything is put away. Most importantly my scrapbook room is taking shape. I am anxious to print pictures from Molly's 6th birthday and Poker night @ Theresa and Alan's. We had so much fun...Mark wasn't worth a darn the next day. T-can't wait for the next pirate party. Looks like Mark and I will have to purchase better costumes this time.
Spent some time watching dancing with the stars tonite. This is the first time ever that I have voted for dancers on that show...but it must be done. I would love to see Joey and Kym win this year. Although Apolo and Julianne would be ok too.

As I am getting more organized I will be blogging more again.

By the way Molly has a piece of artwork to be featured in the Edmonds art Festival. More details on that later. We are proud parents!!!! Way to go Molly.

The call is coming from within the house

Today I had some time to sit down and watch an episode of 30 Rock we had on the DVR. Ok first of all, I love that show. It is strange, funny, quirky...totally fits my sense of humor. But when Jack was "stalking" liz and her boyfriend and they showed Jacks face on the little security monitor-well let's just say that Jacks face creeped me out a little bit. For those of you who don't know, the character Jack is played by Alec Baldwin. BUT-back to my story. The next line after they showed Jack's face was something like "the call is coming from within the house".
This totally made me think of some wierd things that I have had happen at our house in the last few months that I am now going to share with you!
1. Last year I bought Mark a Seahawks bottle opener that played the Monday night football song, by Hank Williams Jr. That did not irritate me at all, until it just started playing itself at random during the day. I moved it away from the silverware and then two mornings in a row the stupid thing started playing...at EXACTLY 3:48 a.m. There is nothing scarier than the fact that I was woke up by Hank W. Jr. screaming "Are you ready for some football?" and this is magnified by the fact that it was at the exact same time two mornings in a row. I believe my response the next morning as I stumbled down the hallway was "I am not ready for some football you piece of junk!"
2. Earlier this year my phone has rang and when I have looked at the caller I.D. it is our own telephone #. This has also happened twice.

I am not really a superstitious person...but I am a little "the call is coming from within the house" creeped out by these things.

If anything more happens I will be sure to post about it.
Have a happy Monday (if that is at all possible).
